At this lovely time of year perhaps all of us hawk lovers should remember Violet who passed away December 29, 2011. I still have photos of her that night in the park, with Bobby Horvath and Roger_Paw of course. Despite everyone’s efforts she died from cardiac arrest after being captured for treatment. She was the mother of Pip and Bobby of course was his father. Violet died in the company of people who gave her warmth and comfort, food and medicine, people who cared deeply about her welfare and shared a profound love of these magnificent red-tailed hawks. Happy New Year everyone!!
