Thank you, Dianne! That is how I see it too. From all appearances, Sadie has accepted him as her mate and we have evidence that he will be a strong defender of the territory. He has been showing more tolerance toward the fledglings so that has been a positive.

It’s horrible to watch indeed. However the ‘good’ of it is that Juno is going to be a great protector of the nest next season. He’s shown his mettle, even if it is in this awful way. He’s one confused bird at the moment.

Bobby was the best. I too miss him very much and am finding it rough having to watch these new events unfold.

Sadie has been around and apparently providing for the first fledgling and should get caught up taking care of the other two soon.

Hi, Carole. Yes, the male attacked the second baby Hawk and caused it to leave the nest early. My account of the second fledge is in this post.

No! There’s two! The aggressive male hawk attacked the other baby yesterday and forced it off the ledge. It crash landed in a tree! Waiting for update. Things are disintegrating without our beautiful Bobby.

That poor baby. Where’s Sadie? That hawk is such a bully! Maybe he killed Bobby! How many babies were there? There are three babies in total.

One in the nest means the second has fledged?? Seems the remaining baby will need to hurry and grow up and leave! The male wants Sadie’s undivided attention. I fear it may not end well for this eyess.
