They are probably mating already; so far I don’t think any of my Hawk-watching friends have spotted them doing so this season (yet) and I was out of town for a couple of weeks.

We were sitting in a conference room having an important meeting on broadway near the park and saw Sadie or Juno – I think it was Sadie because of size and darker coloration – feast on a pigeon on a fire escape right outside our window. Feathers flew and it was very dramatic. Due to the nature of the meeting we couldn’t all stop and look out the window but still it was cool. Later on my way home I walked by one fifth avenue and saw probably the same hawk fly right up to the very top. It was thrilling!
