Mourning doves weathering the storm – October 29, 2011

The day started out with light rainfall. The mourning doves and sparrows I feed daily at my window sill were a sleepy bunch before breakfast:

As soon as I put the seed down, they snapped awake and ate heartily.

After eating, they relaxed again on one of their favorite branches outside one of my windows (sparrow on the far left):

They fed just before the snow from today’s Nor’easter began to collect:
