The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
The second of the three Washington Square Park Red-tailed Hawk eggs hatched earlier than anticipated! I caught the tail end of it hatching at 10:26PM this evening:
The first egg was seen hatching on the NYU Hawk cam at 7:44AM this morning. The babe was fully out of the egg at 8:12AM. You can see the footage of the first hatching here.
At about 1:50PM today Bobby brought a freshly-procured pigeon to the nest for Sadie to feed their baby who hatched early this morning.
In case you missed my previous post, the first egg was seen hatching on the NYU Hawk cam at 7:44AM this morning.
Below is NYU Hawk cam footage I recorded of this first feeding. As it so happened Bobby brought a second pigeon to the nest while I was uploading this footage.
