The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
I missed a lot of sweet Bobby and Sadie action before I visited Washington Square Park today. A fellow Hawk-watcher saw Bobby on Silver and Sadie fly into the trees which was pretty exciting because almost never see her in the trees.
Bobby was on Silver when I arrived:
I visited Washington Square Park on the 22nd but found no Hawks. Today however was the kind of Hawk outing I have been waiting weeks to enjoy. It had been two weeks since I’d seen Bobby so today’s visit was especially nice.
I was searching through the western trees when I noticed the west side pigeons flying frantically around their favorite tree. I looked closer and saw one of the adult Hawks there:

I didn’t see either Washington Square Park Hawk on Sunday the 17th but I was not out for long and a fellow Hawk-watcher has seen both adults over the last several days.
