Violet hunting on her own – October 21, 2011

Violet was flying solo during my visit to Washington Square Park today.

Flying past the Garibaldi statue:

I did not see her catch or eat anything before I lost sight of her around one of the children’s playgrounds. She (or perhaps Bobby) was later reported seen seated at the evening roost of the last two nights. It’s comforting to know they have a regular night-time hideaway. I took this photo of the roost as soon as I got to the park today:
