Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Report from December 31, 2011

Thanks to JumpFlapper for this report:- Hawk seen perched high on One Fifth Avenue (could have been Bobby since that building is his long-time fave – RP).- Rosie was at the nest while Bobby was atop a nearby building (same building as in my post from December 29th – RP).- Bobby joined Rosie at the nest for a few minutes then returned to the student center (the same nearby building as above).- Rosie went back and forth to the nest several times.- Rosie flew to the top of a spindly tree and was breaking off a twig from the tree. She brought the twig to the nest!- At the end of the day, Rosie flew north and out of sight from the park. Bobby roosted at the Red Roost Inn.The peregrine falcons did not let up on their harassment of the hawks at all.
