Bobby’s two rats for dinner – September 27th, 2012

Bobby was actively hunting in Washington Square Park. Vermin was on the menu.

He flew into the trees at the western side of the park:

A passing Peregrine Falcon changed direction and followed Bobby when he flew off the cross but Bobby was already in the trees.

Bobby would return to the same branches. Boomerang flights.

He caught a large rat:

But oh no, he dropped it!

Success. He caught a rodent so small, he could hold it with one foot:

He flew to the eastern side of the park.

I would have walked right by him if I didn’t have my wits about me:

He began to hopscotch toward his evening roost.

A block north of the park, overlooking University Place:

I ran the couple of blocks to find him. I was just in time to see him fly a few blocks northwest and out of sight for the evening:
