Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Bobby just before roosting time – October 3rd, 2012

Bobby was sitting on one of his favorite flag poles on the eastern side of Washington Square Park tonight. The pole is at NYU’s Silver Center.

I and other Hawk-watching friends watched him for about forty minutes.

He looked over his territory before flying south to a mystery roost:

He flew behind NYU’s Shimkin Hall (the building where Bobby and Rosie have been building a second nest). Fountain splash on the right:

We didn’t find him (or Rosie) at any of the roosts we ventured to so we went our separate ways for the night.
