Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Rainy day pop in to Southeast Central Park – January 16th, 2013

A quick pop over to The Plaza to see if one of the nesting Hawks was around.

One of them was sitting on the eastern-facing side of the building (the nest faces north):

It was the Hawk with the tail feather dot, stalking pigeons that perch on the street lamps and trees at Central Park’s Grand Army Plaza.

It was drizzling and I didn’t have much time to spend at the park today so I skedaddled.

About an hour later, while back at work, I looked out a coworker’s office window to see if I could see the Hawk on The Plaza. I saw it, sitting at a Plaza corner closest to me (under the large cornice):

This is going to be very bad for my productivity…
