Random park sights and Warblers – October 3rd, 2013

A fellow Hawk-watcher saw one of the Washington Square Park Hawks on a flag pole along the eastern side of the park this morning but I did not get to see either Hawk during my two hours in the park today. Below are some random shots I took during my walkabout.

A tree I was standing by a while later was lousy with Warblers.

They move so quickly, it’s difficult locking focus on them!

What I think was a Blackpoll Warbler (Fall plumage). As this blogger notes, identifying Warblers in their Fall plumage can be so tricky!:

The shy bird eyed me a couple of times even though we were very far apart:
