Sole fledgling on a hot, muggy day – June 17th, 2014

A heat wave arrived in New York City today. It won’t cool down for another couple of days.

A fellow Hawk-watcher saw one of the fledglings eating atop a high building perch earlier this morning. The same friend saw both fledglings hanging out together last night.

I visited Washington Square Park a bit later than I had hoped this morning so I got stuck in some pretty hot and humid weather so I didn’t stay too long.

I got to see one of the fledglings relaxing and preening atop an NYU Silver Center water tower:
