Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Bobby on high perches – March 21st, 2015

I spotted Bobby on a terrace railing along Broadway:

He was looking in the general direction of Washington Square Park.

Here is a look at where this building is in relation to the park (it’s the building on the right with the big pool on the roof):

He disappeared during the few seconds I happened to look away.

A Cooper’s Hawk flew overhead:

I saw who was likely Bobby on the ConEd building about an hour later:

Four Turkey Vultures circled by One Fifth Avenue for several minutes:

Unfortunately I didn’t get to see any nest switches today but I did spy this lovely white pigeon:
