The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
Update, 9:24PM: Thanks to a fellow Hawk-watcher, I heard that both fledglings were seen hanging out together atop one of the eastern park buildings this evening. The 2nd fledgling wasn’t flying as strong as the other (who’s had a week’s more experience) but it was doing great.

I saw Sadie on an east-side NYU building flag pole (Education Building) when I approached Washington Square Park today:
It took 7 days but the second Hawk to fledge finally left the Pless building and was found on a Silver Center ledge across the street. A fellow Hawk-watcher sent me the good news a few minutes before I headed out to come over.
The fledgling was walking along the wide ledge when I arrived:
A fellow Hawk-watcher notified me that the windowed fledgling was eating a rodent meal while I was getting ready to come out and visit.
They watched as Bobby sat across the street from the fledgling for a few minutes before flying into the park trees nearby.
Bobby was still in the tree when I arrived:
