The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
I managed to catch Bobby and Sadie Hawks mating today in Washington Square Park. I was starting to get nervous that I might not see them mate this winter.
The first Hawk I saw today was Sadie. The following photos document a little over two hours’ worth of Hawk action today.

Today was full of Hawk action. I saw Bobby fly into the nest to do some housecleaning and later Bobby and Sadie take a break to sun bathe.
There was a raptor circling very high above Washington Square Park at the start of my visit. A regular park-goer pointed it out to me.

A Cooper’s Hawk was in one of the northwestern park trees when I arrived at Washington Square Park today:
