I had promised on fledge day that I’d post these photos sometime and the time has come! These pics were taken during the long Washington Square outing I had the day before she made her mighty fledge. The pics were taken over the course of six hours.

Quiet Hawkery – September 8th, 2017

I searched for the Washington Square Park Hawks in the park, north of the park, and northeast of the park (basically where I’ve been finding the Hawks during the Witching Hour). But today I didn’t see either one. A fellow Hawk-watcher saw one earlier this morning so all seems well.

It’s getting cooler and what has happened in the past is the Hawks return to the park more frequently after their summer break. The break being the weeks after they’ve wrapped up fledgling duties and when they’re having extended excursions away from the park. Plus it’s easier on me to visit the park more frequently after the oppressive heat and humidity.
