I don’t have too much Hawk news to report other than that a fellow Hawk-watcher saw both Washington Square Hawks in and near the park Sunday and Monday.

I visited the park for a couple of hours today but did not see either Hawk. Nothing remarkable caught my eye today for “B-roll” pics to post so below is a bonus photo of this year’s fledgling.

It almost appears suspended in mid-air:

This picture was taken on June 28th, a day when the fledgling was full of energy chasing potential prey around the park.

I was walking toward Washington Square Park when a Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk flew across the sidewalk in front of me, chasing another bird.

It landed in the trees of nearby Sarah D. Roosevelt Park:

It was chilly and cloudy in the city today with intermittent showers. The snow in Washington Square Park has almost completely melted:
