Bobby hunting before bedtime – February 27, 2012

I visited Washington Square Park after work today, just before sunset (although the sun was as good as set since buildings all around hide the natural horizon).

Little did I know I had walked under Bobby while entering the park. It was only after hearing a falcon making ‘yelling’ calls did I turn around to see the bird fly away from a perched Bobby.

He went into the trees in the fenced-in area under construction:

He flew to a couple of different perches:

He sat in one place for a while. He was still and quiet. He seemed to be scanning for prey but didn’t try to catch anything.

He flew overhead and went directly to the Red Roost Inn:

He and Rosie spent much of the earlier part of the day together but she was not present during my 45 minute visit.
