Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Rosie hawk alone with the kids Wednesday – April 25th, 2012

I was in Washington Square Park for a couple of hours Wednesday and missed seeing Bobby during my stay.

Rosie was active flying from perch to perch atop buildings around and just beyond the park during a nest break. She ate small meals at most of them. She eventually returned to the nest and her two babies.

Hello:

Seen through the arch:

Carrying a morsel away to eat:

Unhappy Mockingbird:

Preening out a feather:

Her dinner table is to the left of the white structure:

What might have been Bobby turned out to be a Kestrel or Peregrine Falcon:

Goodnight, Rosie.
