The second St. John the Divine Cathedral hawk just fledged – June 6th, 2012

2:05PM. I had posted about the St. John the Divine Cathedral Red-tailed Hawk nest recently here:

I am happy to share the exciting news that the second baby hawk just fledged from the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine nest (as relayed by a friend who got the word from someone by the nest a moment ago).

The first hawk’s fledge on June 3rd was an accidental one. It was swept up off the nest by a strong gust of wind around noon that day. It safely made it to a secure spot so no harm was done. It was the biggest of the three baby hawks so it was just about ‘due’ to fledge anyway.

Here’s wishing the third and last hawk great luck with its imminent fledge!
