Back with a hunting Bobby – August 21st, 2012

Hearing a couple of squirrels crying their warning calls was music to my ears tonight. It was the tell-tale sound of them alerting each other (and other squirrels around) that a predator was in their midst.

I followed the sounds until I saw the Hawk:

He was actively hunting when I found him.

The sun is setting sooner and I was losing daylight quickly.

He flew to the ground and rose with a small rat in his talons:

Caught in the light of the setting sun:

A squirrel crept near:

Flying directly over my head:

Scrunch and spring:
