A few minutes with Bobby – November 25th, 2014

I didn’t have much time to visit Washington Square Park today but I did get to see Bobby for 15 minutes.

I saw as he descended onto a chimney vent northeast of the park.

His vent is in the middle, One Fifth Avenue is on the left, and the park arch is on the right:

It was chilly today and I gather he was enjoying the heat blasting upward:

I happened to look away and miss the moment he flew off his perch. I lost him completely and couldn’t find him despite searching for him for an hour.

The nest was looking well:

A fellow Hawk-watcher let me know that a Hawk was roosting at the Red Roost Inn tonight.
