Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Bobby beats me to his evening roost – November 23rd, 2014

I searched throughout and around Washington Square Park for the resident Red-tailed Hawks for two hours today only to eventually find Bobby settled into his evening roost at the end of my visit.

I forgot to mention a few days ago that the park’s rat traps now have new stickers on them indicating that they do not contain rat poison.

The label below reads:

WESTERN PEST SERVICES

TRAP ONLY

NO

RODENTICIDE

Bobby in his roost (referred to as The Red Roost Inn since it is located on the side of a hotel):

He was facing north, overlooking a rather quiet block.
