Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Sadie has nest break then keeps close company with the babe – May 24th, 2017

Sadie was on a regular Silver Center Hawk perch when I arrived at Washington Square Park today:

A House Finch flew about and perched near her as the Finches do often with the Hawks:

As my luck would have it, I missed catching Sadie jump off her perch 10 minutes later while I was checking my camera settings.

Zipping around a corner:

She flew quite high before disappearing north on me.

Hello little dinosaur:

Time for a flap walk!

It was about 10 minutes later when I noticed Sadie sitting close to the babe on the nest ledge:

Head cocked to watch mom preen:

I left after about another 40 minutes since the excitement had died down and all was well.
