Mama Sadie Hawk was on her purple NYU flag pole when I arrived at Washington Square Park today:

A fellow Hawk-watcher saw them in these spots earlier in the day too.

The babes were resting out of sight at first.
They then got up to do some flapping and exploring:
Bobby flew north out of the park but Sadie stayed on the flag pole the whole time.
Today is Memorial Day in the US. There were a few military jets circling the city and flying over the park (some if not all of the jets have been part of city Memorial Day observances).
It was a shame the sky was too overcast to get a nicer shot:
Sasaki Garden (located a block south of the park) is rich with beautiful flowers and plants. Recent rain provided for perfect conditions for new mushrooms:
