[Video] 2nd egg hatched, both babies get fed – April 23rd, 2019

The second of the three eggs hatched this morning.

I caught this footage of the new hatchling while watching the live nest cam at 7:47AM.

In the video below you see Sadie with the two hatchlings in the nest and then of her feeding both babies minutes later. Bobby delivers a new branch for the nest, watches his two little ones get fed, then leaves.

The first Hawk egg hatched yesterday at around 8:30AM.

Video of that hatching is here: https://youtu.be/n_Z4PrnfwnM

Footage of the first hatchling’s first meal is here: https://youtu.be/sXM_ELN5Ffc

  1. Thank you Roger for the excellent closeups of feeding. She hides them because of her size and positioning. Lovely! Aren’t we lucky for these Red Tails.

  2. Sadie feeds her babies and Bobby fixes up the home…cant get more “human” than that!
What wonderful family photos, Roger Paw.
It brings a sense of peace to tune out the worldly noise and watch the nest w/ our wonderful Hawk family.
    Thanks, Roger_Paw.

  3. I don’t know why, but this video of the delicacy and precision that Sadie manages in order to feed both little babies is so moving. When Bobby flies in a observes it’s wonderful, but Sadie’s care is mind-boggling.

    1. It really is remarkable how these birds of prey can be so tender. It’s great how we get a peek at all these aspects we wouldn’t have expected from them in the past.
