The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
A fellow Hawk-watcher had seen the Washington Square Park Hawks busy with nest activity early this morning so that was good news.
I only spotted what looked like a Hawk on the Con Edison tower during my visit today.

Bobby and Sadie mated during my Washington Square Park visit today. They perched together, circled together, and Sadie followed Bobby around to different areas a couple of times.
Sadie was the first Hawk I saw. She was perched on One Fifth Avenue:

Today was the day I’ve been waiting for; to catch Bobby and Sadie in the act. All signs were pointing to a typical spring what with their ramped up nest fortification and sticking closer to the park more often. But seeing them mate today was the clincher and hopefully all will go well this brooding season.
