The Washington Square Park Red-tailed Hawk hatchling was in fine form during my 2 1/2 hour outing today. It preened, rested, and had some nice hop flaps.

Bobby appeared a little over an hour after I had arrived. He sat guard near the nest for an hour before disappearing south.

I was in Washington Square Park on the 21st but have been too unwell to post these pictures from my visit until now so apologies for the delay.

I watched mama Sadie Hawk have a nest break for close to two hours. The following photos show her dealing with dive-bombers and eventually go to the nest to feed the babe a late meal.
