Today was full of fledgling Hawk activity in the park trees. Sights included diving attempts at prey and flying over the park square. Mama Sadie Hawk paid the fledglings an extended visit in the trees.

Up close and personal with Washington Square Fledglings – June 29th, 2018
One of the Washington Square Park fledglings flew nearly within an arm’s length of me as it zipped into the park trees. Bobby fed one of the other fledglings a freshly-caught lunch. Mama Sadie Hawk made an appearance as well.

There were a few Washington Square Park Hawk flybys until two of the fledglings settled down to take turns eating a pigeon meal. Bobby later dropped off another meal for the youngsters before it began to rain.
