The third and final egg hatched today at around 8PM.
I had first noticed a hole developing in the egg around 1:30 in the afternoon. It slowly got bigger over the next few hours as the baby Hawk chipped away to freedom.
The beginning of the footage below is of the early stages of that hole. The rest of the footage is of the egg in various stages of hatching and then the new Hawk baby’s first moments out of the shell.
The first Hawk egg hatched on April 22nd at around 8:30AM. Video of that hatching is here.
The second egg hatched April 23rd around 7:47AM. Footage of that hatchling is here.
So much eggcitement! Thank you for all you do…It’s amazing that so many of us are still here watching this pair and keeping up with each other too in a way.❤️
I know! So many of us got hooked on these Hawks at the same time and can’t quit them. 🙂
How tenderly Sadie cares for her chicks.
Thank you for video. I could watch that a million times. #3 sure took her time hatching. At 9:44 am I noticed a pip, yet had to be away until 4, and was thrilled to have not missed the arrival.
Thank you! Yes, it sure did take a while for it to hatch!
How thrilling! Thank you for posting these momentous births and allowing us all to share in these births!
It’s my pleasure, Elizabeth!
