Sadie was sitting on the outer edge of the nest bowl when I arrived at Washington Square Park today.
I walked around the park a little to look for Bobby when I saw Sadie bringing a leafy twig to the nest (she had slipped out without my noticing):
Resting again:
She flew back out of the nest nearly 10 minutes later. She flew out of the park, traveling not very high above the northwestern trees.
She returned to the nest 3 minutes later:
Another 5 minutes passed when all of a sudden Bobby appeared, toting a pigeon kill.
He brought the meal to the side of the building across the street from the nest building:
He plucked it for a few minutes then brought the meal to the nest.
Scrunch and spring:
He flew right down the street after making his delivery:
He stopped at the scaffolding surrounding the old church tower:
I don’t think the men working underneath him noticed his arrival:
He didn’t even sit for a full minute before flying south:
Circling with One World Trade in the distance:
He spent a few minutes circling before heading northeast and landing on the Con Edison tower:
The Hawks seemed to have settled down at this point so I took the chance to leave when all was so quiet.
Bobby is just the BEST!!!
He really is! He’s a great provider.
I had to look at this series of pictures to see if anything seemed amiss…Bobby looks great! He really is the best Dad…hopefully he will find his way back home to his family and his friend, Roger Paw. The photos are beautiful!
I know, right? He was doing so well the last day I saw him. Thanks, Elizabeth.
