Post-heat wave Hawkery – July 24th, 2019

We had a heat wave and some rain over the last week which curtailed my Hawking. However today’s weather was gorgeous (not humid and blessed with many cool breezes).

The big northwestern Washington Square Park lawn was being torn up:

This lawn is undergoing a number of repairs at the moment (a leaky pipe fix and reseeding, etc.). You can learn more about this renovation here.

I walked up to Union Square Park and the streets east of the park and saw no Hawks.

I took this photo of the Con Edison tower to see if a Hawk was sitting at the top (or at the base):

I did not think there was a Hawk there so I moved on.

But I did indeed see a Hawk sitting on the base of the tower when I looked at my pictures from home:
