The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
It’s been a slow few days of hawk watching. They’ve kept mostly to themselves despite a few random flights here and there. Plus, we’ve had heavy rain which has minimized their and our activity. Today should be a better day. In the meantime, here are a few photos from recent visits..
Footage of Pip as she sat in a tree on July 4th. In this video she stretches, cries a little, then flies off the tree. In the background you hear the squeaking of the park’s playground swings and live music.
Pip flew from tree to tree in Washington Square Park and from a tree to a dead pigeon one of her parents had left for her on the ground earlier in the day.
