Central Park red-tails – January 24, 2012

I saw two red-tailed hawks as I was leaving the southeast corner of Central Park during a lunch-time walk last week. A friend who knows the Central Park hawks pretty well told me I was probably not photographing Pale Male in Central Park all this time but most likely Pale Male Jr.

I had devoted I think three or four posts to a couple of red-tails I saw flying around the Plaza which at first I thought may be Pale Male. But my friend’s argument was sound; Pale Male Jr. and his mate are known to fly around the Plaza Hotel and the southeast entrance of the park. I’ll take her word for it!
