Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Chilly, gray evening with Bobby – March 15th, 2012

It was a rough day photography-wise since the sky was so overcast but seeing Bobby made up for the sad weather.

He had flown from the park to the east and disappeared for several minutes. He returned to the area from as far east as Broadway. As he got closer, I saw that he had a rat in his talons. It was a dinner delivery for Rosie.

He flew overhead, over Silver Center, and right to the nest.

After dropping the meal off, he left the ledge and perched on Silver:

He landed directly over my head:

He sat on Silver for twenty minutes before flying south then back again:

He then flew to the window to the right of the nest:

I missed where he flew next but no matter; I was cold and hungry and had to go home anyway.
