I was photographing a Robin in a tree when I heard the familiar sound of a Kestrel attacking a foe.
I looked through the tree’s foliage and saw a Cooper’s Hawk on the roof of NYU housing two blocks south of Washington Square Park:
It was enduring a dive-bombing Kestrel:

I had ventured over to this housing unit to look for Rosie and Bobby Hawk. They have hunted pigeons at that unit in the past.
A Hawk-watching friend and I looked for Bobby and Rosie for over two hours to no avail. Neither Hawk roosted at the Inn nor Bobby at one of his regular nearby roosts.
Hopefully they’ll show up within the next couple of days!
