The apartment building where Bobby and Rosie have been perching regularly lately is my first stop when looking for the Washington Square Park Red-tailed Hawks now.
That tactic is paying off because I saw Bobby on one of the higher terraces as soon as I saw the building from a few blocks away:
I took the following Google Maps screen shots of the building and its proximity to Washington Square Park when I got home.
The northeast corner of the park is on the left, the terraced building (seen with its large rooftop swimming pool) is on the right:
The terraces where the Hawks perch are on the Broadway-facing side:

All of a sudden Rosie appeared, circling low above Broadway before swooping in to land on a terrace several floors below Bobby:
She landed three floors up from the terrace with the evergreens:
Rosie:
Bobby was just as relaxed as before:
Rosie flew off her perch after six minutes:
She turned left/northwest off Broadway:
I walked over to see if perhaps she had landed on another terrace but noticed, while looking between a few buildings, that she was instead flying above University Place and heading further north:
Bobby then flew off his perch after a few seconds, heading northeast:
He then disappeared behind the buildings along the eastern side of Broadway.
I then saw Rosie cross Broadway and circle near Grace Church’s spire (at Broadway between 10th and 11th Streets) before she too flew northeast.
The church spire in the photo below is the one she was flying around (no Hawk in the pic):
A flock of pigeons hanging out at the church was scared up and flying all panicky as Rosie circled overhead so I thought maybe Rosie was stalking them for a few seconds but I didn’t see her attempt to catch one of the pigeons before she flew out of sight.

I walked as far north as 12th Street to look for the Hawks but didn’t find them. It was freezing cold and blustery and I felt I had already enjoyed a fine fifteen minutes with the birds so I ended my birding for the day.
