A fellow Hawk-watcher saw Rosie and Bobby eating on a building across the southern border of Washington Square Park this morning.
I was en route to the park this afternoon when I saw a large bird landing in a tree diagonally across the street from me in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It was a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk:
Since I only had my telephoto lens with me and could not get a wide shot of the scene, here is a view of this tree’s location at 2nd Avenue and 2nd Street (image courtesy of Google Street View):

It might have been the same juvenile I saw in Tompkins Square Park (TSP) on Thanksgiving but I couldn’t say for sure. I have a feeling that juvenile gets around in the Lower East Side because it also looks a lot like the one I saw a block further south on December 7th.

I watched the bird for close to ten minutes. It was getting close to sunset so I had to leave the tyke and continue on to Washington Square Park.
I saw one of the WSP Hawks on the building at the southwestern corner of the park:
It flew a block south (to 3rd Street).
I went to look for it but soon spotted Bobby hop from Judson Church’s roof to its cross:

A fellow Hawk-watcher joined me and went to 3rd Street to check to see if the Hawk I saw fly to 3rd Street might have been Rosie. Rosie wasn’t found so we resumed watching Bobby together.
He flew from the cross to the Red Roost Inn after thirty five minutes:
We checked another regular roost for Rosie but didn’t see her tonight.
