Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Hot & muggy, sleepy Hawk visit – June 14th, 2015

Bobby and Sadie were seen only briefly this morning and the Hawk babies were pretty subdued during my visit to Washington Square Park today.

One of the little Hawks got up and hop-flapped a bit and ran across the ledge before settling down to nap with its sibling. I couldn’t see its sibling (since it was so low on the ledge but a taller fellow Hawk-watcher could just make out its shape).

An unwitting soul walking below the nest:

It was quite muggy and hot so I did not stay as long as I had expected to. It was clear the little Hawks were subdued and nappy so I made a break for it when the baby went to sleep.
