The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
The Peregrine Falcon I used to watch from my kitchen last summer was back on its regular perch yesterday and today.
I’d seen the Peregrine around every couple of months or so since winter but yesterday and today were solid sightings.
The Falcon sat around and preened in the rain for two hours:
A fellow Hawk-watcher saw both Sadie and Bobby at the eastern side of Washington Square Park today.

I was at Washington Square Park for a couple of hours today but didn’t see either Sadie or Bobby Hawk while I was there and some of the surrounding blocks.
The weather is more comfortable now (less hot and humid) so I should be checking on the Hawks again soon.
