Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Mellow Hawkery – June 9th, 2016

Today’s Hawk activity was pretty subdued. The Hawk baby did no jump flaps during the 3 hours I was in the park. It was mostly resty in the nest or on the ledge. It did walk quickly back and forth on the ledge and stretch its wings but that’s as far as it went.

Bobby zipped by when I first approached the park:

A dive-bombing Mockingbird loomed large over Bobby atop One Fifth Avenue:

The baby ate a meal by the window for several minutes.

Bobby looked like he could fly off his perch any second but he continued his sun bath:

I did not see Sadie today but all in all it was a very mellow outing.
