I didn’t see either Washington Square Park Hawk yesterday (or so I thought).
A beautiful bird landed in one of the trees in front of me and I didn’t realize at the time that it was a Mockingbird:
I’m so used to seeing them high in the sky dive-bombing the Hawks and not close up.
I took a photo of the Con Ed tower in the distance:
Wouldn’t you know that I didn’t realize one of the Hawks was truly on the tower until I looked closer at my photos later when I was home:
I took a comparison photo of the tower base when I was in the park today and no Hawk:
