Red-tailed Hawk landing on nest, Bobst Library, NYU, New York City

Drizzle and sprinkles and a passing juvenile Hawk – February 24th, 2018

It was a treat to check on the live Nest Cam to see the Hawks working on the nest together for a few minutes this morning:

A fellow Hawk-watcher in Washington Square Park saw Bobby fly from the nest and perch on the west side of the park and then Sadie fly out and perch at the east side.

My Hawking visit a couple hours later was not as lucky. I saw neither of the Hawks in the park or on the Con Ed tower.

The nest as it looks from the ground:

It drizzled and sprinkled between light rain showers which shortened my already dismal visit.

I had decided to leave the park when all of a sudden a passing juvenile Hawk flew past along the south side of the park:

The only patch of blue:

Bobby visited the nest a few hours after I got home (as seen on the cam again). He fussed with the sticks before flying out.
