Great Blue Heron:

Old deer or elk carcass in the woods:

A couple of white-tailed deer making their way up a hill:

In Washington Square Park Hawk news a devoted Hawk-watcher let me know both Hawks visited the nest ledge today. You can watch the nest action on the live nest cam at this link.

  1. LOL
I missed the caption of you being out of town on a well deserved time away …hope it is warm wherever , but I woke up when you gave us pictures of old bones of some carcass of elk or dear
    “Hey, where are we?”
Thanks for thinking of the Hawk world ,sending us captivating pictures of lovely wildlife.
The Blue Heron and the adventurous white tailed deer are wonderful.
Rest and Enjoy your time away, Roger_Paw

  2. That’s a good sized ribcage. Might it have been a moose or elk? Enjoy your time away and thanks for staying in touch.

  3. Actually, the first heron pictured above is a black crowned night heron. Great blue herons have long skinny necks.
