The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
When I first got to Washington Square Park today, both Bobby and Rosie were sitting on the Judson Memorial Church cross. Because my camera and lens weren’t assembled yet, I didn’t get to take photos of Bobby swooping low off the cross then heading east.

Saturday’s visit to Central Park was the first time I ever spent quality time with Pale Male which is kind of surprising considering I’m an admirer of his and have known about him since 2001. And, of course, surprising considering my favorite subjects to photograph are Red-tailed Hawks!
Zena was in the nest tending to the three babies.

I only spent 45 minutes with the Washington Square Park Red-tailed Hawk family this morning because I had a busy day ahead of me (part of which involved visiting Pale Male’s family; photos in an upcoming post!). There was lots of hawk activity in the short amount of time I was with them.
