The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
It’s been several weeks since I’ve seen a neighborhood Peregrine Falcon.
The one I’d been watching from my kitchen window doesn’t seem to like hanging out there anymore unfortunately.
The Peregrine I saw today could have been the same bird but there was no surefire way to know. It was seated on a building at the corner of 2nd Avenue and 1st Street:

I saw a Cooper’s Hawk soar then land on a water tower right outside the western border of Washington Square Park this afternoon.

I had the pleasure of following Bobby around Washington Square Park for an hour and a half today as he relaxed, circled, soared, then went to bed at the Red Roost Inn.
