A couple of Hawk-watching friends are in Washington Square Park and let me know Juno and Sadie mated on the NYU Silver Center building around 10:20AM.
This is the first mating report I’ve heard this season for Sadie and her new mate Juno. I hope to catch them in the act soon myself!
Juno was seen bringing sticks into the nest a few minutes before they mated. All bodes well so far for this year’s breeding season.
Thanks for the wonderful news, Roger_Paw.
As our hawks go forward w/ life in nature…so do we!
The circle of life!
Yes. It’s been amazing to witness these city Hawks’ cycles of life (and death). Thank you.
Good news coming out of the NYC nests this year so far compared to last year’s nest failures. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Fingers crossed that all our local Hawks have bountiful breeding seasons this year.
Nice to know that even indirectly, Bobby made sure that Sadie (along with her new mate) will still have the nest.
Bobby was the king. If not for him (and Violet) we wouldn’t have had all these years of incredible insights into Hawk life.
Such wonderful news on a springlike day! Keep up the good work, hawk friends!
