The Hawk babies peeked and peered out onto the world from the nest for a long while. Poor mama Sadie Hawk contended with a variety of birds’ dive-bombs against her. Bobby was active far northeast of the park.

As Tompkins Square Hawk-watcher Goggla shares in this post, there is at least one baby in the Red-tailed Hawk nest. Check out her post for pics. The egg may have hatched around May 25th.
The baby is the first for new couple Christo and Amelia (his third mate this season).

Night Hawkery in Washington Square – May 30th, 2018
I was only a couple of blocks away from Washington Square Park when a fellow Hawk-watcher let me know Bobby was perched on the Judson church cross tower. I got to see a couple seconds of him circling over the square when I reached the grounds. I soon lost sight of him.
