The Red-tailed Hawks of Washington Square Park, NYC… mostly
Bobby was on Judson Memorial Church when I first got to Washington Square Park today. Reports are that he and Rosie copulated on the cross earlier in the day and spent time in the nest. They’d been seen copulating just about every day. Since there isn’t a 24-hour hawk-watching presence in park, it’s safe to assume they’ve been copulating more than we know.

I have sad news to report. Lima, Pale Male’s mate, was found dead today. I heard the news from a friend just a few minutes ago. She directed me to Bobby and Cathy Horvath’s WINORR (Wildlife in Need of Rescue and Rehabilitation) Facebook page for more details. Here’s what the Horvaths wrote this afternoon:

Faithful Washington Square Park hawk-watchers JumpFlapper and friends saw Rosie and Bobby roost together for the night at the Red Roost Inn. Rosie stayed all night long for the very first time ever. They copulated minutes earlier then went to bed. Thank you, Jump for the exciting news!
